Detroit Auto Show 2026: Biggest Reveals

The Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) has officially reclaimed its throne as the winter heartbeat of the car world. Held from January 14 to January 25, 2026, at Huntington Place, the show moved away from being just a trade event and transformed into a high energy festival of speed, tech, and classic Detroit muscle.

If you missed the press days, here are the headline makers that stole the show this year.

1. The Cadillac F1 Revolution

The biggest shock of the show did not even have a backseat. Cadillac officially unveiled its Formula 1 Livery for the 2026 season. As Cadillac prepares to join the F1 grid as a power unit manufacturer, the sleek black and silver design was the most photographed “vehicle” on the floor. It marks a historic moment where Detroit engineering meets the pinnacle of global racing.

2. Stellantis Flexes Its Muscle

Stellantis dominated the floor with a mix of “Hurricane” power and electric future.

  • 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack: Proving that the muscle car is not dead, Dodge showcased the new Charger featuring the twin turbocharged inline six Hurricane engine. With up to 550 horsepower, it is a nostalgic nod to the 60s with 2026 performance.
  • Jeep Recon: The all electric, trail rated SUV made its official Detroit debut. With removable doors and a rugged design, it is clear Jeep is taking on the “electric off road” market head on.
  • Ram 1500 SRT TRX: The legendary TRX returned to the spotlight, reminding everyone that high performance trucks are still a staple of the American road.

3. Ford’s “Off Road” Celebration

Ford took a different approach, hosting a dedicated “Detroit Proud: Off Road Edition” event.

  • 2027 Ford Bronco RTR: Ford gave a sneak peek into the future by unveiling the 2027 Bronco RTR. To show it off, they brought back “Bronco Mountain,” where attendees could ride along as the SUV tackled nearly vertical climbs right inside the convention center.
  • Red Bull Racing Partnership: Ford also highlighted its growing bond with Red Bull Racing, showcasing the tech that will power their 2026 championship efforts.

4. The NACTOY Winners

The prestigious North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year awards are the “Oscars” of the auto world. The 2026 winners officially crowned at the show were:

  • Car of the Year: Dodge Charger
  • Truck of the Year: Ford Maverick Lobo
  • Utility of the Year: Hyundai Palisade

💡 Experience Highlights

  • The Gallery: This year featured over 50 ultra luxury vehicles from brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Rolls Royce. It felt more like an art museum than an auto show.
  • Interactive Tracks: There were five different test tracks built into the show floor. Visitors could experience everything from the silent torque of a Dodge Charger EV to the rugged suspension of a Jeep on “Camp Jeep.”
  • Racing Day: Held on January 20, this day was dedicated to motorsports, featuring IndyCar drivers and a display of the Astor Cup trophy.

“In 2026, Detroit proved that the auto show is not just about looking at cars. It is about feeling the power, hearing the engines, and touching the future of how we move.”
